Service Description

Learn the truth about human trafficking and ask questions in an interactive small group format! Our Small Group Sessions are designed to help you understand the complex world of human trafficking, and how we can all respond to make a difference. From protecting our own children to reducing demand for commercial sex, to protecting and rescuing those who lack a defender or a voice to cry for help. A few of the topics we'll cover... -Trafficking at home and abroad -Prevention vs. Intervention -Tactics used by traffickers -Life cycle of a trafficking victim -Disrupting demand -Why focus on children? -Gospel-centered abolitionism -Distractions, fear, and other tactics by the father of lies -Discerning God’s leading in emotionally charged social justice issues -Ways for Christians to respond, from prayer to full-time service, and everything in-between. The Gospel-centered approach to fighting child trafficking calls us to prayer and action, regardless of our resources and circumstances. It is critical to rescue victims from abuse and exploitation, but true and complete rescue comes only through a personal relationship with Jesus. Often, rescuing the physical body is the first step in their salvation story. Small Group Sessions are currently offered in the north-central region of North Carolina, but are available on a case-by-case basis anywhere (contact us for availability). Sessions are led by Ethan & Kimberly Wheeler, founders of The Phoenix Alliance and veterans of anti-trafficking with nearly a decade of full-time service. The goal of Small Group Sessions is to encourage, inform, and empower you to respond to an issue that has affected nearly all of us. While we do greatly appreciate those who support our ministry, there are never any expectations or costs for your small group. God is our provider, and he prompts those He chooses to support this ministry.
